Greg A. Lapp is Vocal Music Director at Centennial High School in Bakersfield, California. He has taught there since the school opened in 1992 and has taught at a number of other high schools since 1983. His program boasts 200 singers in six choirs. Mr. Lapp has also conducted an adult community choir for a number of years.
Mr. Lapp started composing and arranging for his own high school choirs in 1987. Quickly other conductors found that his compositions were useful in their programs. He received his Master's Degree in Composition in 1990 from Fresno State University and received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 1983 from California State University, Fullerton where he studied with David Thorsen and Dr. Harold Decker.
Mr. Lapp's compositions have won competitions, have been performed at various ACDA conventions, and have been performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
Mr. Lapp also sings in a barbershop quartet, plays golf, and travels whenever he can.
